Douglas Dragonfly was built at Douglas Marine near Preston in 2002 to a very high oak lined specification.
The boat was taken for one cruise from Preston to Kings Bromley just north of Birmingham where it remained unused.
I purchased the boat in January 2003 and took it to Goldsbrough Boats to carry out an extensive upgrade of its electrics and cabinetry to make it my ideal home and demonstration boat for my company Wirelessboats.
The Boat was then exhibited at the 2003 Crick and IWA Beale Park boat shows where it received much critical praise for its design and use of innovative technology aboard to improve the quality of residential life afloat.
Both Douglas Marine and Goldsbrough boats have a reputation for attention to detail and fine craftsmanship combined with a stunning Jonathan Wilson Hull, advanced electronics, home entertainment and broadband internet access, Douglas Dragonfly represents an ideal long term cruising/live aboard narrowboat.
